H & M Foundation Global Change Award 2018 (€1 million Grant & Fully Funded to Stockholm, Sweden)

Global Change Award is an innovation challenge initiated by H&M Foundation, aiming to make fashion circular. Global Change Award are looking for early stage ideas presenting new circular approaches intended to reinvent the fashion industry.

This means changing the way garments are currently designed and produced, shipped, bought, used and recycled by adding disruptive technology, processes, or new business models.

(Almost) anyone can apply for the Global Change Award. Five winners, selected by our expert panel, will share a €1 million grant and receive access to an innovation accelerator provided by H&M Foundation, Accenture and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Neither the H&M Foundation nor the company H&M will take any equity or intellectual property rights in the innovations.

The Award

The five winners share a €1 million grant and get access to a one-year innovation accelerator provided by H&M Foundation, Accenture and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

The winners of the Global Change Award 2018 will all receive:

  • €1 million grant
  • A share of the €1 million grant. The distribution of the shares are decided by the public through an online vote.
    Award ceremony

  • A trip to Stockholm to attend the grand award ceremony on April 20th, 2018.
    Innovation accelerator
  • Access to a one-year Innovation Accelerator.
The innovation accelerator
  • Through the innovation accelerator, the five winning teams of the Global Change Award 2018 get one year of specialized support in taking their ideas to the next level.
  • This includes continuous support between the immersion weeks throughout the year and individual team coaching through H&M Foundation, Accenture and KTH.
  • Boot Camp

A one-week boot camp, creating insights on innovation readiness, goal setting, IPR protection and innovation development. Provided by KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
  • Idea Acceleration
New York, USA
Learning and networking opportunities with leading expertise on circular economy, innovation and insights into future digital customer experiences. Provided by Accenture.
  •  Industry access
Shanghai, China
Exclusive industry insight, networking opportunities and knowledge about circularity in the fashion value chain. Provided by H&M and H&M Foundation
