The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) Residential Story Development Bootcamp for Journalists.

Application Deadline:  April 13, 2021.

Do you have a great story idea aimed at promoting accountability, transparency, anti-corruption, and human rights?

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) is pleased to announce an open call for journalists to a residential story development bootcamp.

The bootcamp will provide a platform for participating journalists to brainstorm on their story ideas, and discuss more effective approaches to pursuing those stories. The bootcamp will also be an opportunity for peer learning, experience sharing, and mentorship.

A significant part of the bootcamp will focus on how participants can use the RTI law to access information to advance their story development.

The residential bootcamp will comprise interactive presentations from seasoned media professionals, group works, and practical story development sessions.

At the end of the workshop, participants would have shaped their stories and developed the plans for pursuing them to the end.

After the bootcamp, participants who require and are able to justify a need for financial support to work on their stories will receive financial support.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants should be Ghanaian journalists currently working with a recognised print, online, and electronic media organisation in the country.

Applicants must have a story or story idea that they are pursuing and would want to use the bootcamp to fully develop it.
