Application Deadline: March 29, 2015.

The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is pleased to announce two upcoming reporting trips to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Tanzania.
Two groups of six women journalists each will travel to Tanzania or Eastern DRC to report on themes of democracy and governance from June 10 – 22, 2015. Reporting fellows will begin their trip in Nairobi, Kenya, where they will complete comprehensive security training and an orientation about the Initiative with briefings from regional experts.Fellows will then depart for one week of in-country reporting, during which time they will have the opportunity to network with other journalists, report independently and collaboratively with their peers, and gain access to a variety of sources and sites related to the trip theme.

The IWMF designed this program to support journalists interested in pursuing stories that go beyond the well-established path of political instability, armed conflicts, and humanitarian crisis in the region.
