2015 UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) is a multi-donor fund established to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing countries through support to projects that aim to foster the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector.

UNESCO has launched the sixth call for the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) for funding requests and its new On-line Application Platform.

Since 2010, the IFCD is providing around USD 5.3 million in funding for 78 projects in 48 developing countries, covering a wide range of areas.

Public authorities/institutions and NGOs from developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention, as well as international NGOs are all eligible to apply.

Who Can Apply:

The beneficiaries of the IFCD are the following:

Basic requirements for eligible funding requests

The IFCD supports projects that are consistent with the main objective of the IFCD and cover the following areas of intervention that lead to structural change:

  • the introduction and/or elaboration of policies and strategies that have a direct effect on the creation, production, distribution of and access to a diversity of cultural expressions, including cultural goods, services and activities;
  • the reinforcement of corresponding institutional infrastructures*, including professional capacities and organizational structures, deemed necessary to support viable local and regional cultural industries and markets in developing countries.

The project implementation period shall be between 12 and 24 months.

The maximum amount that can be requested from the IFCD per project isUS$100,000.
Projects that are approved for funding will receive their allocations in several installments. Beneficiaries normally receive 50% of the total amount approved in the beginning of the project, another 30% mid-way through the project and the remaining 20% once all activities have been completed and the final reports are submitted.

Key deadlines:

All applicants are to submit their applications by 15 April 2015, midnight CET to the IFCD On-line Application Platform.

Applications from public authorities/institutions and local NGOs will undergo a pre-selection process conducted by National Commissions for UNESCO by 15 May 2015, midnight CET.

Dear UNESCO Shabelle Foundation is one of the Organization Operate south and Central Somalia the head quarter office in Mogadishu while the other branch offices in some south central regions in addition to that it is WASH and Food Security Cluster partiners else to provide Vulnerable people, Marginalized weakness women, poor children,IDPs, Orphanage and disable people through out an education, agriculture, health,WASH and Vocational training skill.
