The Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program is a scholarly community where individuals pursue advanced work across a wide range of academic disciplines, professions, and creative arts. Radcliffe Institute fellowships are designed to support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishment who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts.

The Radcliffe Institute encourages applications in all disciplines and on any topic In recognition of Radcliffe’s historic contributions to the education of women and to the study of issues related to women, the Radcliffe Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender, and society. Applicants’ projects need not focus on gender, however. Women and men from across the United States and throughout the world, including developing countries, are encouraged to apply.

 

Eligibility:

Stipends:

  • Stipends are funded up to $75,000 for one year with additional funds for project expenses. Some support for relocation expenses is provided where relevant.
  • Radcliffe work with fellows with families who have particular issues connected to relocating to smooth the transition.
  • If so directed, Radcliffe will pay the stipend to the fellow’s home institution. Fellows receive office or studio space and access to libraries and other resources of Harvard University during the fellowship year, which extends from early September 2016 through May 31, 2017.
  • Visual artists and film and video artists may apply to come for either one or two semesters.
  • In the event that they come for one semester, the stipend is $37,500.
