Applications are now open for the 2024 Renew Capital Venture Lab. The Renew Venture Lab allows startups to tap into an experienced investment team across Africa, experienced startup executives, and partners and investors from around the world.
Eligibility Requirements
- Growth-oriented founders of tech-enabled, asset-light companies in Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Sudan and Mozambique. Exceptional startups in other countries may also be considered at the discretion of the Renew Capital team.
- Companies that have traction and that are raising their first rounds of capital.

Investment Capital
- Renew Capital invests between $50K and $300K in each startup, depending on Renew Capital’s assessment of growth potential.

- Growth tools, management tactics, and pitch coaching: a comprehensive business training program to support your startup’s growth.

- Instruction, coaching, and mentorship from Renew Capital staff spread across the African continent. Select companies may receive additional mentorship from successful entrepreneurs in our global investor network.

Pre-Lab Training
All who sign up will be invited to learn:

- The basic steps of the investment process
- The key documents involved in the investment process
- What happens after you receive an investment
Venture Lab - Selected startups will be invited to the Renew Venture Lab – a training series to prepare your company for potential investment.
- The Renew Venture Lab offers a blend of online and live training, featuring coaching sessions delivered by the Renew Capital team.
Investment - Renew Capital invests between $50K and $300K in companies that have been selected for investment and passed due diligence.
- Companies may qualify for larger rounds of funding from Renew Capital’s follow-on fund as they continue to scale their business.
Pitching - Shortlisted startups in the Renew Venture Lab will be invited to pitch to our investment committee.
