Apply Now: Become a Student Reporter at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2013, Dalian-China.

Application Deadline: June 30 2013

Continuing Student Reporters’ coverage of World Economic Forum global meetings (see the Global Agenda Summit in Dubai, UAE and the Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland), we are sending a team of five reporters to report on theAnnual Meeting of New Champions — and for the first time, we are opening up applications to recruit new reporters for this conference.

Also known as “Summer Davos”, this meeting is held in Dalian, China, 11-13 September, 2013 and focused on rapidly growing economies and global companies. The meeting convenes over 1,500 participants from business, government, media, academia and civil society under the theme “Meeting the Innovation Imperative”. The conference will address today’s most critical concerns in economic, industry and technological developments that are reshaping consumer behaviors, business models, and growth patterns.

With an aim to bring a younger generation’s voice to the media coverage of this event, we will focus on the role of business in the context of global sustainability challenges in addition to our normal beats of media, sustainability, management and economics. Through our training program and hands-on experience at the conference with global media players, we will help you develop skills in online journalism, specifically in profile writing, critical analysis and business reporting. We will produce both written and multimedia work, as well as curated news releases to engage our audiences back home during the conference.

The team will be composed of five reporters from around the world, led by two editors. Before applying, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our work, especially our recent conference projects and the types of articles we produce.
