2013 Global Powershift: An International Gathering on Climate Change.

 

Global Power Shift is the starting point for a new phase in the international climate movement. First hundreds of climate leaders from around the world will gather in Istanbul to, launch a year of new strategy and action for the movement. Then, we will fan out across the globe to spark an unprecedented wave of  events and mobilizations for climate action.

The Global PowerShift, an international gathering will take place in Istanbul, Turkey from June 10-17, 2013. This gathering will bring together 600 young organizers from around the world to skillshare, trade tactics and connect on how we will be the generation that turns the tide on the climate crisis. Organizers who attend Global PowerShift will then return to their own countries and help to organize a regional gathering, developing regional campaigns, goals, actions and networks.

The Global Powershift is in two phases:

Phase One: Istanbul, June 10-17, 2013

On June 10-17, young leaders will converge in Istanbul for a landmark gathering. 500 grassroots activists and leaders from around the world will meet, train, share skills and stories, and prepare for the next phase of the global climate movement.

Phase Two: Everywhere, 2013-2014

After leaving Turkey, these young leaders will fan out across the world to catalyze powerful national movements calling for bold climate action. Through a series of national summits and trainings, they will unleash a new wave of climate activism.
