Application Deadline: 2nd April 2014

The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is pleased to be launching the Dickson Poon Undergraduate Scholarship Programme, welcoming applications from the brightest and best students from around the world.

What is the Dickson Poon UG Scholarship?

The Dickson Poon Scholarships represent a significant milestone for the Law School as part of Mr Dickson Poon’s £20m donation to help the School cement its reputation as one of the very best law schools in Europe and to further its ambitions to set new standards in legal education and research.

The Dickson Poon Scholarship programme focuses on students who demonstrate academic excellence, outstanding potential and life ambition. Up to 75 scholarships will be awarded to the best undergraduates enrolling in law in 2013.

Of the 75 undergraduate scholarships – 25 are worth full home/EU fees for all years of study, while the remaining 50 are worth £18,000 over three years.

The scholarships are available as follows:*

  • Politics, Philosophy & Law LLB programme – up to 10 scholarships
  • Law LLB programme – up to 10 scholarships
  • English Law & French Law LLB programme  – up to 5 scholarships
  • All Undergraduate Law LLB programmes – up to 50 scholarships
  • Residents of Hong Kong and People’s Republic of China – up to 15 scholarships

The Dickson Poon Undergraduate Law Scholarship programme offers generous scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and life ambition.

We are welcoming scholarship applications from ALL applicants who receive an offer from us of a place on one of our LLB programmes beginning in September 2014.

If you are an offer-holder or expect to receive an offer from us, we strongly encourage you to apply.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you will need to complete an application form. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 2 April 2014.

Up to 75 Scholarships are available

The Dickson Poon Undergraduate Law Scholarship programme is the largest scholarship programme for Law in the United Kingdom and Europe. The large number of scholarships available means that a significant proportion of those top students who apply to study Law at King’s, can benefit from generous financial support during their studies. All this means that it really is worthwhile applying.

They’re prestigious and generous

We will be awarding up to 25 scholarships worth £9,000 each per year. Each of these scholarships will have a total value of £27,000 or £36,000, depending on whether you follow a three year or four year programme. We will also be awarding up to 50 scholarships worth £6,000 per year. Each of these scholarships will have a total value of £18,000. This is an opportunity to focus on your studies rather than trying to ‘earn and learn’ and perhaps even to graduate debt-free.

Everyone can apply for the Scholarships

They are not means-tested and we do not award them on the basis of your financial circumstances. We will be awarding them on the basis of merit.

We welcome and encourage applications from all students who apply to study Law at King’s and who receive an offer from us of a place on one of our undergraduate Law programmes. There is no restriction on where you come from – these scholarships are equally open to Home, EU and international students.

It’s easy to apply.

Simply go to our Student Funding pages. You’ll see that we have provided plenty of tips and suggestions on how to make your application the best it can be.
