What is AppStar?

AppStar” is a unique mobile applications contest where you get to showcase your talent by building, uploading and distributing apps across emerging markets in Africa & Middle East. Needless to say, you get to win cash rewards & existing prizes by competing with developers across these markets.

Who can participate?

AppStar contest is open to participation for mobile application developers residing in Egypt, Lesotho, South Africa,Qatar,Kenya & Tanzania; start-ups, businesses, students, professionals.

, Symbian, Andriod & Blackberry

Round One- Local Contest

  • Registration and Submission

Developers residing in Egypt/Lesothos/South Africa/Tanzania/Qatar/Kenya must register by 26th October,2012.

Build
Develop your apps- For Getting clarifications. Visit the discussion boards.

Publish
Login to Publish your application by 2nd November 2012

Submit
Submit your Published App id to enter the contest.

Round Two- International AppStar Contest

For each country: 2 winning apps (they could be from any category) shortlisted by the panel of experts will be nominated for the international round. All the international round finalists will get the opportunity to showcase their apps through an in-person demonstration and presentation to the panel of judges.

Total Prize money for the International round for the Safaricom/Vodafone Appstar Contest is USD20000. More details of the venue, date, travel plans etc will be posted in the official page of the Appstar Contest.
