Canon Collins Trust selects scholars on behalf of Edinburgh Business School for its distance learning MBA programme.

The aim of the Edinburgh Business School MBA Programme is to enable those for whom an MBA would otherwise be inaccessible to pursue a leading business qualification by distance learning and by doing so to contribute to their community and their country
Scholarship Worth:
What the scholarship covers:
  • All course materials and access to course websites
  • All examination fees
  • Graduation fee
What the scholarship does not cover:
  • Travel to and from examination centres
  • Any other associated costs such as travel to attend the graduation ceremony
To be eligible to apply for an Edinburgh Business School MBA Scholarship, applicants must:
  • Be a national of and ordinarily resident in a sub-Saharan African country
  • Have a clear plan for how the MBA will benefit the local community and country within which they reside
  • Have a first degree from a recognised university or an a professional qualification such as ACCA
  • Be at least 25 years old and not older than 50 years old at the time of starting the programme
  • Have at least 2 years full-time work experience
  • Not previously have studied an Edinburgh Business School course
  • Not be in a position to pay for the course from your own resources
  • Not already have a master’s level business qualification
  • Not be studying towards another qualification
  • Have an operational internet connection
  • Not have previously applied for the scholarship more than twice
Criteria for selection:
  • demonstrated academic ability
  • the applicant’s reasons for choosing to do this course at this university
  • the personal qualities of the applicant
  • evidence of the candidate’s commitment to their country’s future
  • financial need
