Seeds for the Future Program is Huawei’s global CSR flagship program. Since 2014, Huawei and ICT Authority have jointly worked together to build a stronger ICT ecosystem through promoting ICT skills and capacity under the program in Kenya. This is aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry through provision of internships and training. To date over 180 students have benefited from the program
Due to the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, the Seeds for the Future program will be held virtually for the second year.
Requirements:
• Kenyan students currently studying at the university preferably with a major in ICT or STEM
• Demonstrated excellent academic acumen
• Passionate about telecoms and technology trends
Benefits
During the 7-day program, the participants will:
• Receive entry level and advanced courses on key technologies, including 5G, cloud computing and AI
• Experience the traditional and modern China through virtual tours of Chinese scenic spots or fast growing companies
• Hear from Huawei experts, external entrepreneurs, professors or scientists who will share perspectives on a wide range of topics from cyber security to aerospace industry
• Immerse in an interactive and dynamic classroom where group discussion, debate, round table dialogues will be arranged to ensure cross-cultural exchanges with fellows from other countries
• Get a glimpse at Huawei’s history and technological developments including virtual tours of Huawei exhibition halls, campus and stores
Application Procedure:
• A resume,
• A proof of GPA/ unofficial transcript
• A motivation letter between 400-600 words that shows why you want to participate in this program, you relevant part experience, your interests, and what you could potentially contribute to the program.

• Only shortlisted students will be selected and supported to take the training online.
• Only applications received before the closing date will be considered
• This is a non-salaried program and participation in the program does not imply that future employment will be offered by Huawei upon graduation, or any time in the future.
