National Treasury Graduate Development Programme 2017/2018 for Young South Africans.

The National Treasury is committed to youth and skills development in South Africa. NT provide graduates an opportunity to gain meaningful workplace experience to complement their studies. The National Treasury Graduate Development Programme is directed at those who have or are in the process of completing their studies. Graduate recruits will be part of
a supportive environment allowing for continuous development.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
  • The programme is aimed at bridging the gap between academic studying and the workplace by offering students/graduates an opportunity to gain practical work experience for twenty four (24) months.
  • The internship programme runs for twenty-four (24) months. Permanent placement in the
    department after the programme is not guaranteed.
  • Interns are encouraged to apply for permanent positions after one year on the programme
CRITERIA
  • Graduates must be in their final year or have completed their degrees and or post graduate studies with an average of 60% or higher and must be South African citizens.
  • A comprehensive selection process is also followed, including and not limited to interviews and case studies.
To qualify for the internship programme, you must have completed or be in the final year of
completing your undergraduate or postgraduate university or university of technology degree, in the field of :

•Accounting• • Environmental Science• Statistics/Applied Mathematics/Quantitative Methods• Built Environment •Economics •Econometrics• Finance• Financial Management• International Trade• Business Management •Information Technology/Information System• Internal Audit• International Relations• International Politics •Public Finance• Public Administration/Project Management• Political Science• Public Management •Monitoring and Evaluation• Development Studies• Philosophy• Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Logistics

REMUNERATION
  • Interns are offered competitive market-related salaries .
  • All interns receive on-the-job training and will attend learning interventions both behavioural and technical arranged by the Department.
  • There will be a learning agreement between the line manager and the intern to ensure that interns are developed accordingly.

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS ACADEMY The CAA provides an avenue for prospective Chartered Accountants to receive training without going through an audit firm. This type of training has been a feature in the private sector for some time, but has been adopted by the public sector. National Treasury was the first national government department to introduce such a programme. This programme will not only reinforce your academic education, but will also help deve lop business acumen, professional and ethical values. The programme will contribute significantly to the National Treasury’s ability to attract and retain key finance and accounting professionals within the department and the broader public sectoras a whole. A maximum of 10 graduates a year get selected into the programme.
