The SAG-SEED Starter is a programme tailored to the needs of teams who are keen to set up a new eco-enterprise and develop entrepreneurial solutions to top challenges in their country.
The newly developed SAG-SEED Starter promotes the incubation of new eco-enterprises. Setting up a business is both an exciting and challenging task:
Turning an idea into a product or service customers actually want to buy, requires not only a deep-dive into the market, but also business skills and bringing together the right team and partners. Considering all aspect can be challenging, therefore, SEED supports young teams of entrepreneurs with innovative ideas through the SAG-SEED Starter Months.
The SAG-SEED Starter in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya, South Africa and Uganda is part of the SAG-SEED project under SWITCH-Africa Green.
How does it work?
A number of selected teams will come together during two workshops in the capital cities to develop and refine these business ideas. The period between the two workshops will be used for facilitated testing of the idea with potential customers and partners.
SAG-SEED Starter Months
During the application period for the SAG-SEED Starter Months future eco-entrepreneurs form their teams and come up with their business ideas to tackle one of the main challenges in their country. Under expert guidance the selected teams will come together during two workshops to develop and refine their business ideas.
The time between the workshops is used for testing the idea on with potential customers and partners. After the Starter Months the teams have proven their concept and are ready to engage partners, funders, and go to the market.
How to apply:
Your participation in the SAG-SEED Starter Months is only four steps away:
- Download and read the „Call for Applications“ for your country to learn about the Starter Months in your country. Based on the information select the key challenge you want to address and gather you team.
- Download the „Application Form“ for YOUR COUNTRY. The „Application Toolkit“ will help you to complete the „Application Form“.
- Send the completed „Application Form“ to us via e-mail.
- An internal selection team will select and inform the teams whom will participate in the SAG-SEED Starter Months.
