Scholarships to attend The Scottish Universities’ International Summer School 2014 in Scotland.

Application Deadline: March 21st 2014

The Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS)  brings together students and academics who, irrespective of their national, religious, or cultural difference, share a love of literature.

SUISS runs for a total of six weeks, but students may choose to come only for four or two weeks

The School presents a wonderful opportunity to visit Scotland and combines excellent educational facilities with the incomparable surroundings of Scotland’s capital city.

The British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships are supported by the generosity of British Council Scotland to celebrate the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland. They are intended to support gifted literature and creative writing students from Commonwealth countries who would otherwise be unable to attend the summer school. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.

Two 2-week Literature scholarships and one 4-week Creative Writing scholarship will be awarded.

Although SUISS is based at the University of Edinburgh, it pools the resources of some of Britain’s most prestigious universities.

SUISS represents the following universities in Scotland:

The University of Aberdeen

The University of Dundee

The University of Glasgow

The Open University in Scotland

The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow

The University of St Andrews
