Nominations are invited for 2013/14 Chevening Scholarships on the Clore Leadership Programme.

The Clore Leadership Programme shapes exceptional cultural leaders through in-depth learning, tailored to the needs, aspirations and circumstances of the individual. Each year, the Clore Leadership Programme awards between 25 and 30 Fellowships to exceptional cultural leaders from the UK and beyond. Fellows from the UK and Ireland have in the past been joined by International Fellows from Canada, China, Egypt, Hungary, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. The Fellowships have proved to be a self-sustaining network in a growing international family.
Clore Fellows are drawn form across the cultural sector, some working freelance and others from different types and sizes of organisations, in areas ranging from archives to theatre production, and including visual and performing arts, film and digital media, heritage, libraries, museums and cultural policy. The structure of the programme includes residential courses, an extended placement, individually-selected training and mentoring.
This year we are delighted to announce that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office will fund up to four Chevening Scholarships for International Fellowships on the Clore Leadership Programme. This year nominations are invited for outstanding potential cultural leaders from China, India, Egypt and Brazil. Application is by nomination by the British Embassy/High Commission only. Each region/country may nominate up to a maximum of three individuals. The closing date for applying to be nominated is Friday 22 March 2013. Applicants should read the details of how to apply for further information on the application procedure.

How to Apply
The application form for the Chevening/Clore awards is available from the British Embassy/High Commission in your country of origin or can be downloaded here. Applications should be clearly labeled ‘Clore Chevening Scholarship Application’ on the front of the envelope and should be returned to the relevant British Embassy/High Commission by Friday 22 March 2013 at the latest. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
The British Embassy/High Commission will be responsible for shortlisting a maximum of three nominees per region/country. Candidates may be required to participate in an interview with the British Embassy/High Commission.
The shortlisted nominees will be required to participate in a further telephone/Skype interview with the selection panel of the CLP in May 2013.
Each application should include:
- A completed application form
- A curriculum vitae (maximum two A4 pages)
- A structural diagram showing the staffing structure of the candidate’s organisation with their position highlighted (if appropriate)
Each candidate should also:
- Have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Have the ability to live independently and make the most of intensive learning opportunities
Once shortlisted, a supporting statement from the British Embassy/High Commission will be attached to the nominee’s application.
