The South African Ideas Festival is an entrepreneurial development festival, run by Bezos Scholars from the African Leadership Academy. During this festival, participants are equipped with the design thinking skills to innovate in order to spark change in their community.
Virtual SAIF 2021 will be running under the theme: Unlocking Entrepreneurial Development Through Profitable Passions- Serving Communities Through Passions. This year the South African Ideas Festival will be passion specific in that we will be focusing on developing skills within these sectors:
1)Technology
2)Arts and Culture
3)Environment and Health
4)Education and Activism
Eligibility to participate in SAIF 2021:
1.Between the ages of 14 – 19 years old.
2.Must apply in Teams of 3 -5 people.
3.Their teams must fit within one of our categories.
4.Must be in a position to implement the business idea if they win the first-place cash prize.
5.Must be well versed in the English Language.
6.Must be an African Citizen residing in Africa.
Prizes:
1.Cash prizes worth 20 000 Rands.
2.Consulting services with African Leadership Consulting Group.

Dates:
- The festival will run over two weekends.20 -21 February and 27-28 February
- Sessions will only take place during the weekend for 5 hours a day.
- The week in between is open time for participants to work on their business ideas in preparation for the final pitch competition
