The World Youth Alliance International Internship Programme.


The World Youth Alliance internship program is an opportunity for young people who are inspired by the ideas and work of the World Youth Alliance to contribute practically to WYA’s regional projects and to study more closely the ideas which have formed the WYA. The program focuses on both project work and training. The type of projects interns get to work on are diverse, and vary according to the specific interests and skills of each intern.

The World Youth Alliance is looking for leaders with a strong desire to protect and promote human dignity while making a positive impact on society. Description

Advocacy Team Internship

International Headquarters, New York City

Law students and lawyers are encouraged to apply for an Advocacy Fellowship with the World Youth Alliance in New York. Advocacy Fellows assist the Director of Advocacy in preparing research and policy reports for our international advocacy work in defense of human dignity. The Advocacy Fellow is also responsible for monitoring sessions of the United Nations, and assisting with the organization of WYA’s participation at UN commissions and conferences.

*Note: This internship is only open to law students and lawyers

North America Team Internship

International Headquarters, New York City

This intern works specifically with the North America region of WYA. This intern assists with  projects in the city of New York, such as the North America Emerging Leaders Conference, and developing WYA chapters in highschools and universities. This internship track is a great way to get involved in project management, conference planning, and get more intimately acquainted with leadership in New York City.

Social Media Internship

International Headquarters, New York City/possibility of working from home

This special internship track is open to candidates who have experience in social media (Facebook and Twitter), and who have blogging, editing, and writing skills. This intern will work on WYA’s blog, Facebook, and Twitter pages to establish WYA’s presence in the digital world of Social Media.

Marketing Team

This special internship track is open to multimedia artists (graphic design, video editing, podcasting /audio & sound design) and social-media savvy youth who are interested in applying their skills to cause-oriented marketing campaigns.

*Note: Applicants should submit a marketing portfolio in addition to application and requested documents.

Development Marketing Internship

International Headquarters, New York City

This intern assists in the implementation of Alumni communications, and in the documentation and archiving of WYA projects. This special internship track requires a candidate with strong graphic design and photography skills, and a willingness to learn video editing skills (iMovie).  A background in Student Affairs/Alumni Affairs/HR is an additional advantage.

*Note: Applicants should submit a graphic design and photography portfolio together with the basic internship application packet.

The Program is divided into three main components:

Introductory Training

Interns will undergo WYA’s Certified Training Program (CTP). The training will focus on two main areas namely human rights philosophy and the dignity of the human person as the basis for all human rights.

Project Management

The Interns will also have the opportunity to have first-hand experience in managing projects under the guidance of WYA staff. Intern will be assigned to work on projects and tasks that suit their interests and strenghths.

Network Building

Interns woll be able to attend different events and meet new contacts as they represent WYA in various Occasions.

Fill out the WYA Internship Application Form. To download the internship application, click here. Email the completed application with required letters of recommendation and other documents to education@wya.net.

Youth aged 18 – 30 looking to complete an internship should sign the WYA charter if they are not members yet. Committed members in their regions are preferred so we encourage you to learn about WYA and participate in regional activities.
