YALI RLC Southern Africa Emerging Leaders Program – Hybrid Cohort 24 & Online Cohort 20

Applications for the YALI RLC Southern Africa Online Cohort 20 & Hybrid Cohort 24 are open! The YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC SA) provides young African leaders between the ages of 18-35 with the necessary skills, tools and opportunities to better serve their communities and countries. The programme offers in-person and online training in Business and Entrepreneurship, Civic Leadership and Public Management and sector specific programmes.

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. The YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC-SA) is hosted by the University of South Africa at the Graduate School of Business Leadershio in Midrand. South Africa. The RLC-SA aims to create critical thinkers who can solve complex. multidisciplinary problems; foster entrepreneurial and innovative thinking, and encourage cross-border communication and multicultural collaboration.

The programme offers 4-7 weeks of intense online or in-person training in Business and Entrepreneurship, Civic Leadership, Public Management, Education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) with post training exposure to: Grant Funding Opportunities, Networking, Collaboration, Tools and Resources.

Applications are encouraged from

  • Women
  • Other minority groups
  • Young leaders with disabilities
  • People who are HIV positive or who are living with AIDS
  • Rural based and economically disadvantaged young leaders

Criteria

  • Age (18-35)
  • English language proficiency
  • Demonstrate commitment to positively impact their communities, countries, and the African continent
  • Proven experience and track record in Public Management, Business, Entrepreneurship, or Civic Leadership
  • Ability to commit to a two-weeks online and three-weeks residential programme

Eligible Countries

Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
