Applications are now open for the 2026 Data Science to Advance Women’s Health (DSAWH) Fellowship. The transformative 9-month program designed to equip women scientists with the knowledge, tools, and networks to make data-driven impact in health research.
Through this fellowship, 20 early-career women researchers from Eastern and Southern Africa will join a vibrant community of innovators, mentors, and leaders advancing the frontiers of women’s health using data science.
The Data Science to Advance Women’s Health Fellowship is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Requirements
- Participants will receive mentoring and training in data science and scientific writing.
- Participants must be pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree, or be a post graduate researcher working on women’s health.
- Participants should also have a draft of a first authored research paper. The selected fellows will use the skills learned from this fellowship to advance their careers, publish in scientific journals and contribute to their field.
- The second cohort will consist of researchers in East and Southern Africa.
