MTN Ghana Foundation Bright Scholarship 2025 for young Ghanaian Undergraduate Students.

Applications are now open for the 2025 MTN Ghana Foundation Bright Scholarship. For about two decades, the MTN scholarship foundation has been awarding various sponsorship programmes to thousands of well-deserving across the African continent. Now Ghanaian youths are being supported by MTN Ghana Foundation to pursue various courses at different levels of education in Ghana through the Scholarship scheme.

Level/Field of Study

  • The Scholarship is designed for Year one Undergraduate Students and Continuing education Students at any public Higher Institution in Ghana. The Applicant must be pursuing any course of choice.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, one:

  • Must be a first-year or continuing student pursuing a first degree at any Ghanaian public tertiary institution or pursuing vocational and technical skills training.
  • Must be Ghanaian, brilliant but needy.
  • Must be of good conduct, hardworking, and have excellent academic results. Being involved in extra-curricular activities as a continuing student is a plus.
  • Be proven to be without any academic disciplinary issues and must not be serving a bond to be of good behavior.

Host Nationality:

As one of the Scholarship in Ghana, the MTN Foundation in Ghana is designed for Students from the 16 Regions in Ghana.

Eligible Nationality:

Only Ghanaians can apply for the MTN Ghana Foundation Scholarships 2020. You must come from any of the 16 Regions of Ghana to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

These 16 regions in Ghana include Accra, Takoradi, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Wa, Ho, Sunyani, Tamale, Bolgatanga. The Digital ChangeMakers Incubation Program 2025 for Ghanaian Women Entrepreneurs

Applications are now open for the 2025 Digital ChangeMakers Incubation Program. This project aims to equip women-led micro-enterprises with tailored digital solutions, enabling them to adopt innovative products that meet their needs and fosters growth and innovation. This objective should be reached through a process of ideation and incubation of user-centered innovative ideas and solutions targeted at addressing economic growth and needs of women micro-entrepreneurs in the targeted regions (Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, North-East, Upper East and Upper West). We are seeking to select individual innovators and teams that will be supported through the incubation program to enable them develop their ideas into working protoypes. 

Requirements

  • This opportunity is open to early-stage innovators, startups, and teams based in and operating in the regions of focus (Ashanti, Eastern, North-East, Northern, Upper East and Upper West).
  • The minimun age requiremenst for an individual is 18 years old. Women and persons with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Do note that existing staff of GIZ, selected intermediaries, and GFA are not qualified for this opportunity.

Program Details

  • Selected Participants will be invited to attend the 2-day Ideation Workshops in June. Participants based in the Northern, North-East, Upper East and Upper West regions will be invited to participate in the Northern Zone workshop while participants based in the Ashanti and Eastern regions will participate in the Ashanti Zone workshop.  
  • Participants will be given 2-3 weeks to further refine their ideas after the ideation workshop. They will then submit their updated proposals to be reviewed for selection to advance to the incubation phase.  
  • Shortlisted finalists will then be advanced to the incubation phase and will be each paired with a hub in their region to receive further support including mentorship, software engineering, UI/UX design, etc. The incubation phase is expected to take place between August to December 2025.  
  • Participants with advanced prototypes and strong participation during the incubation phase will stand the chance to participate in the final pitching event which will take place early 2026 to stand the chance to win prizes and additional support.  
  • The top 3 teams will have a chance to win a share of 10,000 Euros worth of prizes to further work on their prototypes.

 French Government (France Excellence) Scholarship Programme 2026 for High Level Scientific Stays in France (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2026 French Government (France Excellence) Scholarship Programme. The Embassy of France in Ghana is implementing the French Government Scholarship Programme, “France Excellence” among which are the “Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau (SSHN, High-Level Scientific Stays)”. Addressed to academic and research staff wishing to spend some time in a higher education or research institution in France, the SSHN also aim to be a tool to increase the cooperation with French institutions.

Eligibility criteria

Nationality: any candidate with a tenure position in a public or private higher education institution or scientific research laboratory is eligible. Please note that binational candidates holding the nationality of one of the countries of the European Union are not eligible.

Degree: only PhD students and holders of PhD degrees are eligible. According to the programme rules, candidates who have obtained a doctorate for more than 5 years will be considered “confirmed researchers”. Candidates who have obtained a doctorate within the last 5 years, are considered “young researchers”.

Length of mobility: from 1 to 2 months.

Dates of mobility: in 2025, only mobilities scheduled between the 1st of September and ending at the latest on the 15th of December will be eligible, if the institution in France can host the grantee.

Benefits

  • The scholarship includes a round-trip air ticket, a monthly allowance, health and repatriation insurance. Accommodation can be booked through Campus France Paris. The rent would be then deducted from the grant.

Selection Criteria

  • Applications will be assessed on the basis of the precision of the project and elements ensuring the added value and impact of the mobility on personal, institutional and cooperation levels.
  • The host organization letter of invitation must include a description of the activities to be carried out during the stay (e.g., titles of seminars/conferences organised, scientific articles in preparation). The cover letter must explain the reasons of the host organization selected, past achievements in line with the mobility project, relevance to the areas of research developed by the home laboratories, and actions generating the strengthening or creation of new collaborations. The quality and precision of the work plan will be assessed through the mobility timetable, which must demonstrate that the project has been carefully prepared in advance.
  • Candidacies proposing a co-financing will be positively assessed.
  • The results will be sent by e-mail together with the description of the procedure to comply for the travel arrangements and visa applications. The Embassy of France in Ghana will link the grantee with Campus France Paris who is responsible for the organisation of the practical aspects of the mobility.
  • Any mobility must be confirmed confirmed by June the 15th[1] will be automatically cancelled. The scholarship will be given to a candidate on the waiting list.
  • Scholarship cannot be transferred to the following year, whatever the reason might be.

Application Timeline:

  • 26th April 2025: deadline for application.
  • 30th May 2025: results released to the laureates
  • From 1st September to 15th December 2025: mobility period in France.

The Business Incubation Programme at the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) empowers entrepreneurs with innovative solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Are you building a climate-smart business in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, water solutions, eco-friendly manufacturing, or green technology? 

Duration

  • The incubation programme spans 6 to 9 months, during which entrepreneurs get significant support to refine their ventures and skills.

Requirements

  • Legally registered and operational in Ghana for at least three (3) years.
  • Not fewer than three (3) full-time employees.
  • Minimum annual gross revenue of GHC 500,000 in the last two fiscal years.
  • Must operate in one of the five (5) sectors of GCIC:
    • Climate Smart Agriculture
    • Domestic Waste Management
    • Energy Efficiency
    • Water Management & Purification
    • Solar Power

Businesses outside the 5 sectors but with an interest in greening their operations may also apply.

Women-led businesses and businesses focused on water management & purification, especially those providing solutions to the water pollution menace of galamsey in Ghana, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application Process:

The application process involves five stages, with qualifying entrepreneurs progressing to the next stage until the final cohort is accepted and inducted. 

(1) Expression of Interest

Assessing alignment between the entrepreneur’s venture and GCIC’s focus areas.

(2) Detailed Application

Entrepreneurs complete a form for evaluating business viability, potential impact, and team.

(3) Forum

An open dialogue with GCIC’s team to establish expectations and align objectives.

(4) Presentation

Entrepreneurs showcase their business readiness in a live presentation to a panel.

A visit to validate information provided.

French Embassy in Ghana Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme 2025/2026 for Ghanaians to study in France (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 French Embassy in Ghana Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme. Within the framework of academic cooperation and student mobility between France and Ghana for the 2025-2026 academic year, the French Embassy in Ghana is offering full Scholarships to Ghanaian students at Master’s levels on a merit and needs basis.

Note that in France, a Master’s program usually lasts two years (M1 + M2). The scholarship covers two academic years if the scholar is admitted in M1, and one academic year if the scholar is admitted in M2.

Eligibility criteria:

  • French Proficiency is not a requirement for application (except for Masters in FLE French as a Foreign Language).
  • Be fully committed to take up a course of study in France for the academic year 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 for the full master program in France (M1 and M2)
  • Have Ghanaian nationality and reside in Ghana
  • Under 30 years old
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree for a Master
  • Have completed National Service
  • First Class or Second-Class Upper applications will be given priority consideration


Fields of Study: 

  • STEM, Mathematic, ICST, Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, Archaeology and Heritage studies, Cultural and Creative Industries, Agriculture and Food Industry, French as a foreign language.

Application Procedure

  • Applicants are required to submit combined soft copies of their application file by email, the combined documents must be named: Name-Surname_2025_Master.pdf
  • The subject of the message should include Name-Surname-2025-Master of the applicant.
  • An acknowledgement of receipt of a complete application will be sent to applicants via email.

The application file should contain the following:

  1. Copy of your international passport data page (valid for a minimum of two years)
  2. Recommendation letter from your university (not mandatory but strongly recommended)

Applications are now open for the 2025 Orange Corners Ghana Accelerator Programme. The Orange Corners acceleration programme in Ghana is a collaborative initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, implemented by GrowthAfrica, Africa’s leading business accelerator. In partnership with Fidelity Bank, Emergent Payments, Friesland Campina, Vivo Energy Ghana, Meridian Port Services (MPS), Koudijs, Peoples Pension Trust, and Cargill, the programme aims to support the growth of ambitious entrepreneurs while nurturing Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The Orange Corners Ghana initiative spans a six-month acceleration programme consisting of five three-day workshops spaced four weeks apart.

Additionally, post-acceleration in-business visits over 9-12 months will facilitate the development and execution of growth plans, along with masterclasses and personalized coaching sessions.

Eligibility:

  • Your business is beyond the initial product-market fit phase, and has earned commercial, recurring revenue for at least 24 months.​
  • Have recurring revenues equivalent to at least USD 30,000 annually.​
  • Have at least one co-founder working in the business full-time and exclusively.
  • Have at least one active co-founder in the business aged 18-35. ​
  • Have matured and stabilized enough to employ a minimum of 3 full time employees on a permanent basis in addition to the founders.
  • Your product/service is solving a clear need that can be identified as delivering on one or several SDG goals.  ​
  • Your product/service or  business model is innovative (i.e. your approach to supply chain, production or distribution, and sales), and it provides a clear competitive advantage  ​
  • Women are especially encouraged to apply for this opportunity.​

The Youth Sounding Board offers an opportunity for a group of 20 selected young Ghanaians to engage in dialogue on youth-related issues and provide a youth perspective on the programming and monitoring of actions, as well as policy drafting for the EU Delegation to Ghana and the Netherlands Embassy to Ghana. It also provides a space for creativity and exchange, allowing members to share their perspectives and contribute to the work of the EU and the Netherlands in Ghana.

The YSB offers a platform for 20 selected young Ghanaians (aged 18-32) to:

  • Engage in dialogue on youth-related issues.
  • Provide a youth perspective on the programming, monitoring, and policy drafting for the EU Delegation to Ghana and the Netherlands Embassy to Ghana.
  • Collaborate in a space designed for creativity and exchange, contributing to EU and Netherlands’ work in Ghana.

Building Resilience and Investing in the Development and Growth of Entrepreneurs in Agriculture (” BRIDGE-in Agriculture” or “BIA”) is a 5-year Mastercard Foundation initiative that aims to make affordable capital and technical support available for SMEs in agriculture and related sectors in Ghana. The program also equips young people and women with skills through training for dignified and fulfilling work.

To ease the financial burden on the youth, BRIDGE-in Agriculture is working with commercial banks to lend to agribusinesses at single-digit interest rates. This helps them expand operations and create new jobs, which lead to poverty reduction among the youth and women in Ghana.

Loan Program Details

To support agribusinesses in Ghana, BRIDGE-in Agriculture has partnered with multiple commercial banks to offer accessible loans. These loans are specifically tailored to meet the needs of Ghanaian agribusinesses, addressing key barriers SMEs face in accessing financial support. Eligible agribusinesses include:

  • SMEs involved in primary agriculture
  • Agro-processing and agricultural input supply
  • Agri-technology companies
  • Businesses within the agricultural value chain, such as restaurants and agricultural R&D entities

This loan initiative aims to stimulate job creation, enabling agribusinesses to scale up their operations, creating positive ripple effects across communities in Ghana.

Training and Development for Youth and Women

In collaboration with various business development service (BDS) providers, BRIDGE-in Agriculture offers free targeted training and technical support to help agribusinesses thrive. Youth between 18-35 years and SMEs in agriculture or adjacent sectors can gain practical skills and knowledge through this program, increasing their chances of dignified employment or entrepreneurial success.

Grant Opportunities

As part of the program, participants may also qualify for a grant of up to GHS27,500, aimed at fostering business growth. This opportunity is designed to empower selected trainees, providing crucial financial support to turn their ideas into impactful businesses.

The Orange Corners acceleration programme in Ghana is a collaborative initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, implemented by GrowthAfrica, Africa’s leading business accelerator. In partnership with Fidelity Bank, Emergent Payments, Friesland Campina, Vivo Energy Ghana, Meridian Port Services (MPS), Koudijs, Peoples Pension Trust, and Cargill, the programme aims to support the growth of ambitious entrepreneurs while nurturing Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The Orange Corners Ghana initiative spans a six-month acceleration programme consisting of five three-day workshops spaced four weeks apart.

Additionally, post-acceleration in-business visits over 9-12 months will facilitate the development and execution of growth plans, along with masterclasses and personalized coaching sessions.

Eligibility:

  • Your business is beyond the initial product-market fit phase, and has earned commercial, recurring revenue for at least 24 months.​

Requirements

Job role

The United Nations University, Institute for Natural Resources in Africa, is rolling out a call for its Innovate for Clean Agricultural Technologies (INFoCAT) project. The INFoCAT innovation challenge is an initiative sponsored by IDRC under the Clean Energy for Development: A Call for Action programme and is partnered by Enda Energie and UNU INRA. 

The INFoCAT innovation challenge is to support low-cost clean energy-powered agritech innovators, with the intention to expand access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy technologies for smallholder women and youth farmers in Ghana, Senegal and Cote D’Ivoire to increase agricultural productivity and income. 

The objectives of the Innovation challenge are to:

  • Support the development and expansion of affordable, labour-saving, clean energy agricultural technology solutions to save time and reduce drudgery.
  • Support clean energy agriculture technology start-ups with a focus on women-led enterprises and where possible, refine and expand their products to meet the needs of smallholder rural farmers and
  • Create avenues for mentorship, access to networking and training.

Eligibility & Criteria

  • Eligible innovators or enterprises must be based in Ghana.
  • Complete application form with business details and full description of the innovation.
  • Agritech technology must be powered by clean energy and must demonstrate energy efficiency. Technology must meet the needs of small to medium-scale holder rural farmers in the priority crop areas (rice, maize, cassava, and groundnut).
  • Technology use must require less human (manual) labour and time. Technology must be cost-effective and have clear commercial potential, be easy to operate and scalable. Demonstrate a solution that reduces CO 2emissions.
  • Teamwork is highly recommended (including members with diverse backgrounds). The team must demonstrate gender intersectionality with inclusion of women.
  • Priority will be given to women and youth innovators. Clean energy supply – the innovation should have the potential to be used to power both agricultural technologies and other use. This will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstration of a working prototype (NB: There is room for new technology yet to be designed).

Grant

  • Pilot grant: USD 3,000 -7,400 (grant available for about 10 innovations/ teams/ enterprise)
  • Business Scale-up grant support: USD 30,000 – 37,000 (1 innovation/team)

The Research, Documentation, and Policy Engagement (RDPE) programme of Aegis Trust is pleased to launch this third Call for Proposals under the ASPIRE (Action for Sustainable Peace, Inclusion, Rights & Equality) Programme funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only Rwandan nationals may submit proposals as principal investigators.
  • Rwandan main applicants may collaborate with non-Rwandan co-investigators.
  • Proposals may relate to ongoing projects (which are not yet in the final stages) or new projects that require fresh research. Both categories will be paid at the same rate.
  • Submitted proposals should be around 500 words covering:
    • a brief description of the topic,
    • the specific research question to be answered,
    • a clear methodological approach, and
    • the paper’s expected contribution to the existing knowledge.
  • Applicants, including any co-authors, should also submit a copy of their CV.

Themes

  • They welcome innovative submissions of proposals in English or French on topics connected to one of the following themes:
    • Governance and Social Cohesion:
      • Inclusive governance and the margins;

Funding Information

  • At least 3 proposals will receive funding.
  • Each successful proposal will receive the Rwandan Francs equivalent of 2650 British pounds (tax inclusive) to be used for researchers’ remuneration and other costs associated with conducting the research (£1900 will be paid upfront and £750 upon the production of the outputs)
  • The amount paid for each research proposal will be the same, regardless of the number of authors.

Requirements

The Program is seeking innovative startups operating in the circular economy sector who are committed to driving positive change and sustainability. Specifically, we are looking for:

  • Stage of entrepreneurs: The program will look for and support entrepreneurs who are at the early stage of their entrepreneurial journey. This includes entrepreneurs who have, as a minimum, a working prototype that has been tested with and by real users. 
  • Thematic areas of solutions: The program will target solutions that fall under the 5 big bets as defined by ACEA: Food Systems, Packaging, Electronics, Fashion and Textiles, and Built Environment. 
  • Geographic focus: The program will support solutions with operations in at least one of the countries of Ghana, Ivory Coast, or Rwanda. 
  • Ownership of startup: The program will support startups with African founders or that have a majority management team being African.

The event will also be an opportunity to showcase the program’s success and a way to raise awareness on the toolkits that IHs will have developed for the entire circular economy ecosystem.

Applications are now open for the 2024 Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM, Since 2001 the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung supports the international exchange of students and young vocationally qualified people by awarding the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM. The program enables both young people from Baden-Württemberg to spend some time abroad and invites foreign scholarship holders to get to know Baden-Württemberg.

Through the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana), the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung will support up to five young professionals from Ghana per year.


Young, aspiring people who are working in manufacturing, craft or service sectors can apply for a scholarship to live and work in Germany in the state of Baden-Württemberg for up to six months. The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Ghana) serves as the point of contact for both Ghanaian companies and their young, qualified staff who are interested in the scholarship.

The program targets young professionals, seeking to grow their expertise, learn new skills and work with technologies in advanced markets.

Young professionals from Ghana will apply their newly acquired skills in their local companies, after completing a 6 months-placement at related companies in Germany. It offers exciting insights into the manner of working, business structures and management concepts of related industries in the Southwest of Germany. This exchange program will facilitate business to business (B2B) relations between the local company and the placement company in Germany.

  • Applicants must have a valid Ghanaian passport
  • Applicants should have at least A1 German Language degree or should be willing to acquire these basic skills before going abroad

DAAD Leadership for Africa Master’s Scholarship Programme 2024 for West and Central Africans (Fully Funded study in Germany)

Applications are now open for the 2024 DAAD Leadership for Africa Master’s Scholarship Programme. The scholarship programme “Leadership for Africa” (LfA) aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young refugees and national scholars from Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Mauritania at higher education institutions in Germany. In times of conflicts and displacement in various African countries, this programme intends to contribute to the education of future leaders, who will be essential for the further development of their home countries.

“Leadership for Africa” offers scholarships for Master’s studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except for Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Fine Arts and Architecture. All “Leadership for Africa” scholarship holders benefit from a complementary training programme in good governance, civil society and career development. The mandatory programme must be completed in addition to the regular studies.

The programme targets two groups:
1) Highly qualified refugees who hold refugee status and fulfil the necessary qualifications for Master’s studies in Germany.
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

  • Holding refugee status in their host countries, being granted before 2nd of April, 2023
  • Country of asylum must be either Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, or Mauritania
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree at the time of application

2) Highly qualified graduates from Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, or Mauritania who fulfil the necessary qualifications for Master’s studies in Germany.
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

  • Citizenship of either Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, or Mauritania
  • Country of residence is Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, or Mauritania
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree at the time of application

Please note:

  • With a Degree in Medicine, you can apply for Public Health or Biomedical Master related programmes only. A Master programme in Medicine is not eligible for funding.
  • For applicants from artistic disciplines and the field of architecture, the DAAD offers subject-specific scholarship programmes (see separate DAAD scholarship offers in the scholarship database).

Application Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree at the time of application which meets the requirements of German universities for entering a Master’s degree.
  • A Bachelor’s degree of at least 2nd class upper division level is required
  • As a rule, not more than 6 years should have passed since the completion of the last academic degree (see important information for scholarship applicants / Section A, point 2)
  • Good English or good German language skills
  • For Refugees: Copy of Refugee ID card issued before 02.04.2023.

Value

  • German language course (up to 6 months) in Germany before the start of the study programme, including the coverage of the test fees for a German language certificate (TestDaF or DSH test), pocket money and accommodation (only during the language course). The DAAD decides whether to fund participation and for how long depending on German language skills and study requirements. Participation in a language course is compulsory.
  • Monthly scholarship rate payments of 934 EURO
  • Adequate health, accident, and private/personal liability insurance in Germany
  • Travel allowance
  • Yearly study allowance
  • Additional mandatory training programme LEAD!
  • If applicable, monthly rent subsidy and monthly allowance for accompanying family members (spouse and/or children)
    Please note that family reunions may be time-delayed or even not be possible during the duration of the scholarship, due to the duration of the visa processes for some home or host countries.

  • Tuition-free M.A. or M.Sc. degree programme at a public or state-recognized university in Germany starting in winter term 2025 (September/October 2025)

Funding Duration

  • Generally, selected candidates will start their German language course in April 2025 at the earliest and take up their studies at a German institution of higher education by approx. October 1st, 2025. The duration of funding is determined by the standard period of study of the chosen programme. In general, eligible Master’s programmes require two years of full-time study.

Applications are now open for the 2024 UNFPA Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Programme. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has the mission to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. In support of our mandate on young people, UNFPA Ghana launched the Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Programme which aligns with the UNFPA’s Youth Strategy, “My Body, My Life and My World” as well as the United Nations Youth Strategy that calls on UN agencies to “increase impact and expand global, regional and country-level action to address the needs, build the agency, and advance the rights of young people in all their diversity”.

The YoLe Fellowship Programme also supports the Government of Ghana’s priorities on youth development; economic and financial empowerment of young people, youth entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, youth employment, youth and agriculture, youth migration and mobility, and sexual and reproductive health (Ghana National Youth Policy, 2010).

The YoLe Fellowship is a one-year programme designed to empower Fellows to be innovative and transformational Leaders. It builds the capacity of young people by providing opportunities for professional and career development in the area of leadership at various levels and in different sectors, including within the UN system. Fellows also have access to one-on-one high-level mentorship and coaching from high-achieving personalities within different sectors. 

Eligibility Requirements


The applicant must be:

  • Aged between 18 – 30 years
  • A graduate of a tertiary institution in Ghana
  • Able to commit to the Fellowship duration (one year), on-site at the UNFPA Ghana Country Office, Accra  
  • Proactive and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in English (possess working knowledge of English) — (important for general communication purposes. All application materials must be submitted in English).
  • Passionate about Leadership, SRHR, and Social Entrepreneurship which includes agribusiness, innovation, and artificial intelligence (AI) and demonstrate a desire to make a difference in their community: specifically, demonstrate interest and dedication to development issues established through either volunteer experience, work experience, affiliations with a youth network or NGO, in areas of UNFPA’s mandate, passionate about contributing towards Ghana’s aspirations on Agenda 2030.

The Orange Corners acceleration programme in Ghana is an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, implemented by GrowthAfrica, Africa’s foremost business accelerator in partnership with Fidelity Bank, Emergent Payments, Friesland Campina, Vivo Energy Ghana, Meridian Port Services (MPS), Koudijs, Peoples Pension Trust and Cargill. 

The Orange Corners Ghana initiative spans a 6-month acceleration programme comprising five 3-day workshops spaced four weeks apart. It also involves post acceleration in-business visits over 9-12 months to facilitate the development and execution of growth plans, along with masterclasses and personalised coaching sessions. Additionally, the Orange Corners programme facilitates connections between innovative entrepreneurs and the private sector, providing avenues for accessing finance, notably through the Orange Corners Innovation Fund. 

Benefits

  • Successful applicants to the acceleration programme will benefit from a 6-month acceleration process and up to 12 months of post-acceleration catalytic support with an assigned growth catalysts.
  • Participants will have an opportunity to access funding from the Orange Corners Innovation Fund and other sources of funding from partners and benefit from facilitated networking, mentorship and coaching sessions from industry professionals.

develoPPP Ventures is aimed at young companies, whose innovative business model improves living conditions in a developing or emerging country and who are planning to scale up. Via a matching-funds model, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) provides a grant of 100,000 euros for suitable growth investments.

Requirements

A prerequisite for funding is that the start-up phase has already been completed and initial revenues have been generated. In addition, your company must:

  • be privately owned and profit-oriented
  • have a viable business and financial plan
  • be able to provide at least one annual financial statement
  • convince other financiers of its business model (matching funds)
  • not have acquired more than a maximum of €2 million in funding to date
  • have high growth potential and reach break-even within a maximum of three years

Application Procedure:

The develoPPP Ventures call for applications takes place twice a year for six weeks at the end of each quarter (June and December). Do you meet the conditions of participation (PDF) and would like to apply for funding? Here’s how:

The Next Generation Resource Governance Leaders Program is an internship that intends to balance a dose of theory with real-world application and equip participants with the requisite multi-disciplinary intellectual development, practical skills, and research abilities to think in more innovative ways to solve complex governance challenges. The Program is also a strategy to build a pipeline of young pan-African leaders to provide a sustainable path for good governance.

The core of our ambition is to train and nurture young people in an enabling working environment through a structured capacity development process. These will include training on transformational leadership development, professional and career development, and digital communication and technology skills. Essentially, beyond the technical training in resource governance, interns will be exposed to the tools and guidance needed to set and achieve realistic personal and professional goals, coupled with well-rounded and ethical leadership training.

ACEP is calling for applications for the 6th cohort of its NextGen Program. The tenure for the internship will be from April to June 2024.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a young African who demonstrates a passion for ensuring the vast extractive resources in Africa translate to sustainable and inclusive development. Among others, the candidate must possess:

  • Relevant academic qualifications, preferably in any or a combination of economics (including energy), engineering (petroleum/electrical), oil and gas management, public policy, law, political economy, development studies, development finance, project management, communications, statistics, mathematics, etc.
  • Good writing skills with clarity and logical flow of thought
  • Adequate knowledge of relevant qualitative and quantitative analytical tools (R, Stata, Eviews, NVivo, Atlas.ti etc.)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • The ability to think creatively and take the initiative in solving problems
  • A good sense of ownership and responsibility for his/her decisions and actions
  • A strong sense of leadership

2024 UNESCO Kulturweit Tandem Exchange (German international cultural voluntary) Program for Young Africans (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the UNESCO Kulturweit Tandem Exchange Program. From 12.02. Until March 10, 2024 (12 p.m. CET), women* from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia as well as young people from Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia and Togo can apply online for kulturweit incoming. The stay in Germany will take place from the end of August to November 2024.

The international cultural voluntary service as part of the German UNESCO commission offers young people from Germany aged 18 through 26 the opportunity to get involved in the foreign culture and education policy for the duration of six or twelve months. During the course, all volunteers are financially supported and accompanied by seminars – this way kulturweit is open to all young people!

Formal Prerequisites

  • the participants must be at least 18 years and not older than 26 years during the entire time of the voluntary service, i.e. they are not allowed to turn 27 during their assignment period
  • the primary place of residence must be Germany (i.e. volunteers should have spent the majority of the past two to three years in Germany, however, German citizenship is not a prerequisite)
  • German native or excellent knowledge of the German language (proficiency level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • good basic knowledge of the English language, as well as ideally some basic knowledge of a language spoken in the host country
  • a good health and physical condition that is adequate for the stay abroad
  • a passport that is valid until at least six months after the scheduled return

After a preliminary selection by the German Commission for UNESCO, the application documents are submitted to the respective partner organisations for final selection. After the final selection of applications is completed, applicants will receive an assignment offer.

About six months before the scheduled departure, all future volunteers receive an assignment proposal.

The applicants who received an assignment proposal will have about one week to decide whether to accept or decline the assignment offer. Assignments that are declined will be offered to the next applicant on the wait list.

Selection Process:

  • The kulturweit team of the German Commission for UNESCO is carrying out a preliminary selection process within the next four to six weeks.
  • After the preliminary selection phase, all applicants will receive a notification about the status of their application by email.
  • At this time, rejections or positive intermediate notifications are being sent to the applicants, which will be taken into account in the second phase of the selection process.
  • Then all remaining applications will be handed over to one of kulturweit’s partner organisations for final selection. The selection process will be completed within ten to twelve weeks.

Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be 18-35 years old

Launched in 2019, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton programme is the first women-in-business support initiative of its kind in the industry offered by Access Bank’s W Initiative. Ocean Country Partnership Programme Scholarships 2023 for Ghanaian students (fully funded Master’s in marine science.)

The OCPP Ghana Scholarships, funded through the UK’s Blue Planet Fund, offer a unique opportunity for students from Ghana to undertake a fully funded Master’s in marine science. 

Aimed at early to mid-career researchers from Ghana who wish to develop a career in marine science, the OCPP Scholarships Ghana will support world-class research in this area.  

Hosted by the University of Cape Coast, the scholarships will enable scholars from Ghana to harness their regional knowledge, conduct vital research and help develop solutions to marine environmental problems.  

The aim of the scholarships is to support scientific research that will contribute to the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources, and strengthen responses to marine environmental challenges.  The scholarships will also make a positive and tangible impact on the livelihoods of coastal communities that depend on healthy marine ecosystems.

Eligibility criteria  

  • Applicants for Master’s should be citizens of Ghana
  • Applicants need to have already applied for admission to the University of Cape Coast, Ghana to be considered for the scholarship
  • Should be working in or have significant experience of work in the areas of environment, fisheries and aquaculture science
  • Should hold an undergraduate or bachelor’s-level degree
  • Should propose a research topic which is innovative, timely, and likely to lead to clearly demonstrated wider impact beyond the academic community
  • Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for postgraduate study at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana
