Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 World Habitat Awards. The World Habitat Awards find innovative, outstanding and sometimes revolutionary housing ideas, projects and programmes from across the world.
Requirements
- Anyone representing or collaborating on an innovative project in the field of housing is welcome to enter: individuals, NGOs, public institutions, private initiatives, academia, United Nations programmes, etc.
Projects:
- must be related to housing.
- must concern projects that are either in progress or finished less than ten years ago, from the date the call for entries closes (2 March 2026).
- cannot be a grant application.
The Prize
Winning a World Habitat Award provides international visibility and acts as a mark of recognition that a housing solution is innovative, exceptional and exciting. This year we will be presenting Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards to the most outstanding projects and programmes.
Each Gold Award-winning project receives:
- £10,000 in prize money;
- A trophy in recognition of their work to develop and deliver good practice in housing;
- An in-person trophy presentation event at an international housing event;
- An online celebration event and announcement amplifying their work;
- Year-long collaboration support from World Habitat, including financial resourcing;
- Membership of the World Habitat Awards Network.
Each Silver and Bronze Award-winning project receives:
- Year-long collaboration support from World Habitat, including financial resourcing;
- An online celebration event and announcement amplifying their work;
- Membership of the World Habitat Awards Network.
