Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to ZAMBIA and COMESA

Are you a young graduate with less than 12 months of professional working experience, interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Zambia?

Program Details

  • traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Zambia, estimated start date is July 2024.
  • The Political, Press and Information Section is responsible for political analysis and reporting, relations with the Government of Zambia and its institutions as well as coordination of EU Member States. It also covers press and information activities, including press statements, the coordination of press events and relations with local and international press.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Political Science or similar studies
  • Proven interest in African political affairs
  • Prior experience in Africa, in international institutions or foreign policy is considered an advantage
  • Excellent spoken and written English, additional language skills are an asset
  • Very good knowledge of the EU institutions and policies
  • Excellent time-management skills as well as strong communication skills
  • Adaptability, ability to work under pressure and a proactive approach towards assigned tasks

Benefits

  • Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
