Applications are now open for the 2026 Kenya Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Programme. A national initiative of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MICDE), the Technopolis Development Authority (TDA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kenya to identify and support safe, responsible and high-impact AI use cases that strengthen public-service delivery and advance Kenya’s green transition.

General Requirements
- Be legally established or formally recognized in Kenya.
- Submit a clearly defined problem or use case under one pathway.
- Identify intended users, customers or beneficiaries and explain why AI is appropriate.
- Describe expected public, environmental, social or economic value.
- Describe available data or provide a credible data-access and preparation plan.
- Identify a responsible focal point and team.
- Participate in assessment, technical assistance, monitoring and responsible AI reviews.
- Comply with applicable Kenyan legal, regulatory, licensing, data-protection and IP requirements.
GreenTech Startup & Innovator Eligibility
Applicants selecting the Kenyan Startup or Innovator category must meet the following:
- Legally registered and operating in Kenya, with clearly identified founders and ownership.
- Technology-enabled solution addressing an eligible GreenTech challenge.
- AI already contributes — or could materially contribute — to the proposed solution.
- Committed core team with capacity to participate throughout the programme.
- Understanding of intended customers, users or beneficiaries.
- Prototype or minimum viable solution.
- Access to, or a credible plan to obtain, the data required for development and testing.
- Relevant approvals/licenses in place, or a credible compliance plan.
- Basic corporate governance and accountability arrangements.
