Applications are now open for the MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training (Phase 8). The MTN ICT and Business Skills Training Programme empowers young Nigerian microbusiness owners aged 18 – 35 with practical, tech-driven and digital skills to help their businesses thrive in today’s fast-paced economy.
Since 2018 the initiative has run seven phases successful in collaboration with Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Cisco, Meta and Microsoft, across 29 states and the FCT: Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Cross River, Edo, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Enugu, Jigawa, Imo, Kaduna, Kano, Kastina, Kebbi, Kogi, Lagos, Niger, Nasarawa, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and the Federal Capital Territory. 15,362 young microbusiness owners have completed the programme.
Programme Details
In this Phase 8, the training will run for five weeks using a blended-learning approach that combines self-paced online modules, instructor-led sessions, masterclasses from seasoned entrepreneurs, and a capstone project challenge. Participants will receive data support to ensure a seamless learning experience towards applying new skills to their businesses.
Eligibility
- Age: Nigerian female, age 18–35
- Business: Owns and manages a micro business operational for no more than 2 years
- Location: Business located in Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano, or Gombe state
Benefits
- The top 100 participants will receive up to ₦1,000,000 in equipment grants, from a ₦100,000,000 fund.
Over previous phases the programme has delivered measurable impact across diverse sectors, helping microbusinesses scale and adopt digital practices.
