Applications are now open for the 2026 ACEP Media Fellowship on Fiscal Accountability and Anti-Corruption. Applications are open for the 2026 Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) Media Fellowship on Fiscal Accountability and Anti-Corruption.
Now in its third cohort, the fellowship is designed to equip journalists with the skills needed to report on public finance with greater depth and rigour, develop accountability stories using budgets, procurement records, audit findings and public data, and communicate fiscal issues to the wider public in accurate and compelling ways.
The Media Fellowship on Fiscal Accountability and Anti-Corruption provides practical training for media professionals interested in strengthening their reporting on issues relating to public finance, governance and accountability.
Participants will learn how to develop evidence-based accountability stories using sources such as:
- Government and public budgets
- Procurement records
- Audit findings
- Public data
The programme particularly targets journalists and media professionals who currently cover, or are interested in covering, the economy, governance and public finance.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
- Practising journalists, editors or content producers working across print, broadcast or online media.
- Currently covering, or seeking to cover, the economy, governance and public finance.
- Willing to participate fully in the training.
- Willing to complete the programme’s mandatory budget output.
- Able to commute to the training venue in Accra, Ghana.
Fellowship Programme / Training
Selected fellows will participate in a two-day intensive, in-person training.

Location: Accra, Ghana
The programme focuses on strengthening participants’ ability to investigate and communicate fiscal accountability and anti-corruption issues using public financial information and data.
