Application Deadline: 10 January 2027 at 13.00 Central European Time
Applications are now open for the 2027/2029 Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarship in Journalism, Media and Globalisation. The Mundus Journalism master’s degree offers a curriculum that is uniquely focused on developing an analytical and critical lens on journalism, media and globalisation.
Since 2005, Mundus Journalism has been connecting people and building networks of like-minded peers and colleagues across the globe!
Ready to become a resilient journalist with a global perspective? Study at leading universities in at least two European countries, beginning in Denmark at Aarhus University and the Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole, before specialising in your second year:
- Cultures & Contexts – Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München
- Politics & Communication – University of Amsterdam
- Authoritarianism & Transition – Charles University
- Crisis & Conflict – City St George’s, University of London
Requirements
Requirements for admission to the Mundus Journalism programme:
Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) based on at least three years of full-time study
When commencing the Mundus Journalism programme by the 1st of September, students must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. The bachelor’s degree must be a degree approved by both Aarhus University and by the university chosen for the second-year studies*.
Have at least three months of journalistic experience
Because the Mundus Journalism programme is grounded in the field of media and journalism studies rather than basic skills training, applicants must already possess foundational journalistic experience before joining the programme.
Provide proof of English language proficiency at application stage through an accepted English language test, unless exempt
The Erasmus Mundus Journalism programme is taught entirely in English. Students are therefore expected to be able to read and understand academic texts, participate actively in lectures and classroom discussions, and complete written assignments and examinations in English.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are open to applicants of all nationalities, subject to the eligibility criteria below.
