Applications are now open for the 2025 Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) Francophonie Prize. The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) is launching the twelfth edition of the Francophonie Prize for Young Researchers. This award is open every two years and covers the following two disciplinary fields: Science and Technology and Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Francophonie Prize for Young Researchers aims to recognize the merit and quality of the research work of four French-speaking researchers while taking into account the diversity of the French-speaking academic community, particularly that of developing countries. This prize recognizes researchers who have distinguished themselves in their field and have achieved scientific recognition for the significant advances they have made.
Application procedures
- Applications must be submitted and presented by a manager (Rector, President, Director General, etc.) of higher education and research institutions that are members of the AUF.
- The Prize is open to candidates aged 40 or under on the closing date of the call for applications, who hold a doctorate, can demonstrate significant and innovative research activity and are affiliated with AUF member establishments.
- Applications must be submitted before June 27, 2025 (6 p.m. GMT) using a form to be completed online on the AUF platform.
Award Ceremony and Rewards
- The announcement and presentation of the 2025 Young Researchers Prize will take place during the 9th General Assembly and the 5th World Week of Scientific Francophonie (SMFS) to be held in Dakar (Senegal) from November 3 to 7, 2025.
- The winners will receive an official certification and a monetary prize of €5,000 (five thousand euros) each, to encourage them to continue their activities.
