As part of the Maternal and Child Health Reporting Fellowship, a joint program of the UN Foundation and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), Nine journalists will be selected for a reporting trip to South Africa and Mozambique from June 29-July 8, 2014, 

The fellows will be in Johannesburg during The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Conference, where the journalists will be able to interview health experts from around the world who can provide global context for the challenges and opportunities facing the field. The reporting tour will also offer the chance to conduct site visits to villages, clinics and schools to speak with women, children and health professionals about the issues they face every day in Mozambique and South Africa.

Fellows will depart from their home countries for South Africa on June 29, 2014, and return from Mozambique on July 8, 2014.

Benefit:

  • The fellowship covers all costs, including airfare, visas, accommodations, ground transportation and meals.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Applicants can be from anywhere in the world.
  • They must be journalists who currently work full-time at a media organization and
  • Are fluent in English

The Maternal and Child Health Reporting Fellowship is organized by the International Center for Journalists and sponsored by the United Nations Foundation.
