Applications are now open for the 2025 RFI – AUF Young Writers’ Prize. Organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Radio France Internationale (RFI), and Short Édition, the RFI-AUF Young Writers’ Prize aims to encourage writing and reading in French.
Requirements
- The RFI – AUF Young Writers’ Prize is open to French speakers from around the world aged 18 to 29.
- They must be enrolled in one of the AUF member institutions or at the École de Management de la Francophonie (ESFAM ).
- To participate in this edition, the fictional story must contain a maximum of 8,000 characters (including spaces) and must begin with: “I cannot tell where I come from. I have forgotten everything,” an opening line taken from the play by Alexis Michalik,
Passeport , published by Albin Michel.
Prizes:
Two prizes will be awarded:
- The Audience Award, a prize worth €250 ,
will be awarded to the story that receives the most votes from internet users from a selection of the best entries. - The Jury Prize, one or more training courses offered by the IFIC with a total value of
€2,000 . It will crown the work chosen by a jury of professionals with a particular attachment to the Francophonie.
Selection Criteria
- From September 1st to 14th, Internet users will be invited to read and then vote for their favorite text.
- The winners will be revealed on September 15th, 2025.
