The MTN Bushfire Schools Festival is calling on all artists and creatives to apply to be facilitators at the 2020 MTN Bushfire Schools Festival, which will be held from 25 – 28 May 2020 at House on Fire in the Malkerns Valley of Eswatini.
The theme for the 2020 MTN Bushfire Schools Festival is Environmental Sustainability. Through the #GREENYOURFIRE call to action, launched in 2016, MTN Bushfire has actively and consistently committed to encouraging and normalising an environmentally sustainable lifestyle for all. Starting from 2020, the festival will intensify the collective fight against plastic pollution by discouraging the persistent use and importation of single-use plastics in the festival’s trading spaces, camping areas, and activations.
This theme will find purchase in the MTN Bushfire Schools Festival and through student-driven performances and various workshops throughout the week. The Schools Festival will raise awareness on environmental issues and highlight the need for collective action in overcoming climate change.
