South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Bursary Programme 2017 for young South Africans

Application Deadline: September 30th 2017

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Bursary Programme is managed and administered by Career Wise. The bursary aims to provide funding to students who intend on studying in a field related to the banks activities. The bursary will cover students from their first year of study.

Fields of study related to the South African Reserve Bank’s activities, including:

• Accounting
• Economics
• Finance
• Law
• IT (Information Technology)
• Social Work
• Dentistry
• Medicine

Requirements:

Students must meet the following minimum requirements before submitting their application – failure to meet all the requirements will result in an unsuccessful application:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must not be older than 30 years old
• Must be currently in Matric OR must have completed Matric
• Must have achieved a minimum of 70% for Matric mid-year exam results
• Must achieve good results for Matric final exams
• Must be accepted to study towards a full-time undergraduate qualification at a South African university
• Students from disadvantaged backgrounds and those in financial need will be given preference

Bursary Worth

• The SARB bursary will provide funding for: tuition, university accommodation and books.
• Recipients will also receive vacation work opportunities to be funded by the SARB.

• South African Identity Document (certified copy)
• Matric mid-year results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
• Matric final results, if completed Matric (certified copy)
• Proof of acceptance to study at a South African university
• Motivational essay explaining why you deserve to be awarded a bursary (maximum 250 words)
