Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 KOICA Youth Leaders Program. The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in partnership with Hallym University, is inviting applications for the KOICA Youth Leaders Program (2026–2027), a leadership, digital transformation, AI, and entrepreneurship development initiative for young professionals across West Africa. The program targets participants from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire and combines online learning, in-country training in Ghana, and an opportunity for top performers to participate in a fully funded training program in South Korea.

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be between 19 and 34 years old
- Be working in the public sector, private sector, or academia
- Have an interest in leadership, innovation, AI, and digital transformation
- Possess English communication skills
- Be available for training in Ghana
- Be eligible for Ghana and South Korea visa issuance
Priority consideration will be given to:
- Applicants with a degree or at least two years of work experience
- Women applicants
- Youth from rural communities
- Public policy practitioners
- Early-stage startup founders and technology innovators

Program Structure
Multi-Stage Program Structure
- Stage 1: Online Training (Common Course): July 20th July 31st, 2026 (Total 200 participants: 100 Public Sector + 100 Private Sector) A total of 40 participants will be selected from each of the above five countries, comprising 20 participants from the public sector and 20 participants from the private sector. Focuses on foundational African leadership, SDGs, and Generative AI tools.
- Stage 2: Local Training (Ghana): Divided into two distinct tracks based on sector (Public Sector: Aug 2nd-Aug 15th | Private Sector: Aug 16th-Aug 29th) at GIMPA, Accra, Ghana.
- Stage 3: Invitational Training in Korea: 14 days during June 2027 at Hallym University, Chuncheon, Republic of Korea. Restricted to the Top 60 outstanding trainees (30 from Public Sector + 30 from Private Sector) based on overall performance metrics.

Application Process

• Shortlisted candidates(twice the final number) recommended to the University

c. Application form must be submitted in PDF format with the applicant’s signature.
d. A letter of recommendation must be submitted in PDF format with the recommender’s signature.
