Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Rwanda is an affiliate of Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), an INGO headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with operations in Rwanda since 2010.
DOT Rwanda is a youth-led movement of daring social innovators who have the tools, knowledge, and networks to create opportunities and transform their own communities. We support youth to become innovators and leaders, and to create and apply digital solutions that have a positive impact in their communities.
DOT Rwanda is seeking a second cohort of exceptional Digital Champions and Business Coaches to serve under the DOT Rwanda’s Daring to Shift (D2S) Project under the Global Affairs Canada partnership. The Daring to Shift project places young women and men at the Centre of inclusive community development and supports them with the digital and human skills, knowledge, and networks they need to create opportunities and transform their own communities. D2S is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals and contributes to the Rwanda National Strategy for Transformation I (NST1).
The project targets 70% young women (18-35 yrs) to leverage growing digital ecosystems and create new pathways for employment and digital opportunities. The D2S pillar focuses on Business Improvement Program through the integration of new digital tools and technologies; Community Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship.
Through the Digital Skills for Business (DS4B) project, DOT Rwanda provides young women, owners of small, micro and informal businesses – particularly those socio-economically affected by the Covid-19 pandemic – with the digital business skills to empower them to boost their ICT knowledge and leverage the use of ICT tools to enhance their businesses. The initiative also helps create partnerships, linkages, coaching and mentorship to support young women- led businesses establishment, growth and sustainability.
Selected Digital champions and Business Coaches will deliver learning programs and coaching to business owners with micro, small and informal businesses (70% of women) to help them improve their business skills, increase their confidence, integrate new digital tools and technologies to improve the efficiency of their business operations.
Through the Community Leadership Program, DOT Rwanda supports young women and men to become leaders in their communities through real-world placements where they run skills development programs in their own communities. They build competencies in facilitation, digital literacy, gender equality and 21st century skills. They are also equipped with the tools to take control of their careers and livelihoods. When they complete the program, Digital Champions and Business Coaches leverage their leadership skills and real-world experience to access meaningful jobs and opportunities.

Requirements:
- Be Rwandan citizen and aged between 18-30 years;
- Be unemployed, recent university and college graduate;
- Be a young community leader;
- Be a resident of one of the following regions and committed to work in the region or one year collaborating remotely or face -to-face with peer youth and young entrepreneurs:
City of Kigali: Gasabo, Kicukiro, Nyarugenge.
Southern Province: Kamonyi, Muhanga,Nyanza, Gisagara, Huye.
Eastern Province: Kayonza,Nyagatare,Kirehe.
Northern Province: Rulindo, Musanze,Gicumbi.
Western Province: Rubavu, Rusizi, Ngororero.
- Passionate for digital and gender inclusion, transformation and community empowerment;
- Tech savvy with Business knowledge;
- Proficient in written and spoken Kinyarwanda and English;
- Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Through this unique experience, Digital Champions and Business Coaches are provided with a monthly stipend, communication and transport facilitation for successful program delivery.
