The aim of our Green Talents competition is to promote the targeted networking of outstanding scientists from around the world.
The German Government recognizes global warming, energy shortages, resource scarcity, and massive environmental contamination as some of the biggest challenges of today. When dealing with these issues, the Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) believes in cultural plurality to encourage the development of global solutions.
This approach is supported by the annual Green Talents competition, focusing on young outstanding minds active in the field of environmental and sustainability research.
• Strong focus on sustainable development and an interdisciplinary approach
• Enrolment in or completion of a master’s degree programme or higher
• Significantly above-average grades
• Up to 32 years of age
• Proven excellent command of English
• Not a German citizen nor a resident of Germany

The Green Talents will be invited to Germany for a two-week science forum in autumn 2015. You will visit some of the hotspots of sustainability science. This offers you the unique opportunity to get exclusive access to the country’s research landscape. Learn about ground-breaking projects on-site and possibilities for cooperation with German experts and facilities
GREEN TALENTS NETWORKBecome part of the unique global Green Talents network of more than 100 outstanding young minds from over 40 different countries worldwide. Its active alumni network covers the full spectrumof sustainability science and will help you to exchange your ideas with peers and find new projectpartners
RESEARCH STAY IN 2016Take your research a step forward when you are invited to return in 2016 for a fully-funded research stay. Spend up to three months at a German facility of your choice. Gain new experiences in an inspiring environment and advance your professional career while establishing long-lasting relationships.
