Application Deadline: December 18th 2015
Applications for the 2016 Australia Africa Fellowships are now open.
Australia Awards in Africa (AAA), an initiative of the Australian Government, is a pan-African program of development scholarships and fellowships that offers 1,000 postgraduate scholarships each year to eligible African professionals.
Australia Awards, a cornerstone of the Australian Government’s development assistance program for Africa, provide access to postgraduate education, training and professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Africans from eligible countries. On their return to the workplace, Australia Awards Alumni are expected to contribute actively to development in their home countries.
The goal of the Australia Awards Fellowships program is to develop appropriately trained current and aspiring leaders in priority areas, who, in the short- to medium-term, will be in a position to advance key regional policy objectives and increase institutional capacity of partner countries.
Those Fellowships are designed to complement individual bilateral country programs by offering flexible fellowship placements which address current and emerging needs at the country, sub-regional and regional levels.
In Africa, the Australian Government offers scholarships and fellowships under Australia Awards for African professionals to undertake long-term studies leading to a postgraduate degree and short-term training leading to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Long-term awards include Australia Awards Scholarships to undertake Masters-level studies in Australian universities.
Australia Awards Short Courses are formal courses of study or training, delivered in Australia and Africa, of less than three months duration by an approved Australian higher education provider. Training is available for experienced employees from African public, private and non-government organisations (civil society).
